Vikrant Donthamsetti, DO, a board-certified ophthalmologist, received his undergraduate degree in Economics and a minor in Art from Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He participated in clinical glaucoma medical research while studying in school. He continued to Far Rockaway, New York where he completed two years of a General Surgical residency before finishing his residency in Ophthalmology. During his time in New York, he had the opportunity to work at The Agarwal Eye Hospital and offer cataract surgery to people who could not otherwise afford it. Dr. Donthamsetti continued to an Anterior Segment Fellowship with Dr. Paul Koch, a pioneer in phacoemulsification cataract surgery in Warwick, Rhode Island. After completing thousands of refractive procedures including laser-assisted cataract surgery, traditional cataract surgery, and PRK at Rhode Island, he was ready to offer his help back home in the Midwest.
He is driven and dedicated to healing sight and loves what he does. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Dr. Donthamsetti loves to draw, read graphic novels, run, swim, and skateboard. His dream is to illustrate his own graphic novel one day.
